How do I get my product into German supermarkets?
A listing is not won through a generic product presentation. The buyer needs evidence that product, pricing, process and consumer demand work together.
1. Choose the right route
National procurement, regional buying companies, wholesale, specialist retail and convenience follow different commercial models. A regional test can be more credible than an immediate national rollout.
2. Offer a focused range
A disciplined launch range makes decisions easier. Every SKU needs a clear purpose in the category.
3. Work backwards from shelf price and margin
RRP, net purchase price, VAT, promotional headroom, logistics and retailer margin must function as one model.
4. Complete product and compliance data
EAN/GTIN, ingredients, allergens, nutrition, shelf life, storage, case dimensions, palletisation, MOQ, lead times and certificates belong in one consistent retail-ready pack.
5. Build the pitch around category value
Explain which gap the product fills, who buys it, why it will rotate, how the retailer earns and what evidence supports the case.
6. Manage samples, offer and follow-up
Samples, commercial terms and data should arrive together. After the meeting, define clear responsibilities and decision dates.
